Reflection: 

Before Jesus ascended to his Father in heaven, he told his disciples to wait in Jerusalem until the Father had sent the Holy Spirit to them.  This they did, and the day the Holy Spirit was poured out on them is called Pentecost.

Prayer: 

Holy Spirit, you are the Breath of God, we ask you to breathe on us so our lives may be filled with your Holy Spirit and your peace, and may righteousness and love reign in our hearts forever.   Amen.
